Conclusion

The main objective of this project was to explore the product types available in Sri Lanka Customs and to provide a detailed report explaining the process, procedures, documentation, approvals, timeliness and the applicable charges. In this project I have presented the information product wise from the Customs as well as APL Logistics point of view. But in the highly dynamic and vast world of logistics, there can be scenarios which cannot be directly linked with any of the Customs products mentioned in this project. But I guarantee that any of the special situations that APL Logistics have to face in the future, can be handled using the information given in this project as a combination of multiple Customs product implementations or as a partial implementation a single Customs product. I strongly believe that APL Logistics can actually use these Customs products as operation level strategies to maximize their customer value while minimizing their cost in order to maximize the profit as a corporate level strategy in the long term.
